Why Verita HR joined the ASPIRE ecosystem in Krakow

In 2009 the Board of Verita HR made a strategic decision to cover two of the most significant markets in Poland. One of those was Warsaw, where the Verita HR head office is located. The other location was Krakow. It was the opening of the Krakow office in late 2010 that overlapped with Verita HR becoming a member of ASPIRE in Krakow.

Joining the ASPIRE ecosystem was an easy decision. At the time Verita HR had just started out on the market and needed to ensure it had important partners on the market. In Krakow ASPIRE had already built a strong ecosystem. Many of the shared service centres, centres of excellence and several key industry suppliers were already members of ASPIRE. Even in 2010 though, the question was raised about ‘how far can we grow’. People thought that Krakow couldn’t take any more new companies. But it has.

To summarize the success of the ASPIRE ecosystem, the leadership team at the organization organized a special video. The video had snippets of how the ecosystem looks. It is one of the best videos ever produced about the Krakow business sector:

ASPIRE and Meet the Centre Manager

ASPIRE is the representative body of the global technology and business services sector in Krakow. It is widely credited as being a key driver in Krakow’s emergence as the top ranked technology and business services location in Europe. One of the key strategic objectives of ASPIRE is to help educate the market. To open the individual centres to both new employees as well as new entrants to the market. With this in mind, the leadership team at ASPIRE created the initiative called ‘Meet the Centre Manager’.

There have been many centres involved in this initiative. The first meet the centre manager at which Verita HR’s representatives were in attendance was AON. Over the years other centres opened their doors. Brown Brothers Harriman, Universal Investment, Amer Sports, Wilson HCG, Philip Morris, and many others have participated in the initiative over the years. It has provided many companies with an insight into the ecosystem.

The meet the centre manager initiative has been embellished by the production of a ‘headcount tracker’. This tracker is a way to gauge the growth of the business services sector in Krakow. The continued growth the tracker has shown over the years is impressive.

Rekruter and ASPIRE Event in Krakow with Andrzej Borczyk

Over the years there have been many events organized by ASPIRE in Krakow. Sometimes Verita HR even partnered with these events. Only one of them was dedicated to the human resources sector. And this was the ‘Digital HR Transformation’ event from 2018.

With one of the strongest HR line-ups in Poland at the time the meeting room was full. There were only standing places left. Andrzej Borczyk, one of Poland’s leading HR directors was one of the reasons of the success of the event. Verita HR’s own Magazyn Rekruter was a co-organizer.

ASPIRE Supports Ukraine

One of the biggest international events to happen to the ecosystem in Krakow were the recent pandemic and the war in Ukraine. The pandemic did a lot to change work habits. Change people’s perceptions of work from home. As well as drive digital transformation. But, perhaps, it was the war in neighbouring Ukraine that has had the biggest impact on the Krakow business community.

ASPIRE has been supporting youngsters who needed help with their education. The organization has also highlighted the difficulties that businesses in Ukraine face. In 2022 there was a new initiative by ASPIRE called Krakow Calling. And in June 2022 Taras Skyba, Head of the PwC Service Delivery Centre in Lviv in Ukraine joined the call. His insights into how the local PwC were coping with the constant stress of working in a warzone were invaluable. These are the types of moments that one felt that ASPIRE was more than just an organization from Krakow.

The 2024 ASPIRE Leaders Summit – Beyond the Bubble

Back in 2019 the team at Verita HR prepared a video that was short-listed at the annual ASPIRE event that year. The Annual Summit in 2019 included an awards ceremony for the best video about individual members of the ASPIRE ecosystem. It was a pleasure for our teams to participate.

After a few years break, in 2024 ASPIRE’s annual event is back. And, as in previous years, Verita HR’s team is delighted to be involved again. This year’s event includes four different stages, one of which – the People Pavilion – will be supported by Verita HR’s own Klaudia Archimowicz.

Companies like HSBC, American Express, Brown Brothers Harriman, Heineken, PwC, IBM, Amway, Huntsman, Akamai, ABB, Honeywell, Euroclear, IG, Abbvie, Qurate, AMS, Google, Oanda, are just some of the firms whose representatives will speak at the event. Will you be there too?
